While in Arizona, USA you enter the house of 65 years old Reynold and Viola and meet 18 characters who also came here for some reason. The reason is to play a one of 12 card games - Cribbage, Gin, Hearts, Spades, 31, 99, Whist, Pinochle, George, Oh Hell, Euchre, Crazy Eights. Each visitor has different levels of skills in different games, but is capable to play any of the games.

Choosing the participants of the game you begin to play. During the gameplay the sorting by Rank and by Suit is available, each player may talk to you, or you may even learn the rules of each game. In options you may change the deck image, table top, skill levels, talking speed, and cards moving as well as sound and music settings. Also the game may be saved, loaded or started as new one.

Anyone for Cards? is a good collection of card games for Windows from Capstone, and provides yet another proof to a curious fact that the only decent releases from Capstone are either card or casino games.

Anyone For Cards? offers a variety of games, ranging from the popular to the obscure: Cribbage, Gin, Hearts, Spades, 31, 99, Whist, Pinochle, Oh Hell, George, Euchre, and Crazy Eights. Similar to Sierra's Hoyle's Book of Games series, Anyone For Cards? lets you play against 18 computer-controlled characters, each with his/her own style of playing. Although there is no modem or network support, the computer players provide a decent enough challenge. In addition to a nice range of card games, Anyone for Cards? lets you customize many aspects of the program including card graphics, background tunes, and multiple skill levels. There's even a Practice Mode that reveals all of the cards each player holds to help you learn the rules, as well as well-written on-line help.

Overall, Anyone For Cards? is a game that card game fans should enjoy. It could have been better and more varied, but like Sierra's Hoyle games, it combines nice window-dressing touches with a solid underlying gameplay into an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Well worth a look.
