Following the demise of their own planet, a group of aliens have been searching the galaxy for a new planet to colonise. After several failed attempts to create their own living environment upon uninhabited planets, they have finally waged war on the unsuspecting Earth.
This first became apparent several months ago when early reports of the aliens were dismissed. However, the world began to take a lot more notice when a small group of vigilant UFO enthusiasts claimed to be monitoring a large alien mothership. Military action was initially restrained.
Eventually, a group of aliens began to carry out raids. Rumour has it that most of the aliens are simply hidden in everyday street objects. When unsuspecting humans walk past, the aliens pounce.
Most of the victims are so badly mutilated that it's impossible to tell what weapons the aliens may use. Because of this, the armed forces refuse to get involved. The planet now lies in the hands of the UFO enthusiasts named the Alien Busters.
The official conversion of Alien Storm is here! Thanks to US Gold you can take the place of one of the Alien Busters and team up with a mate and have two players battling it out.
Alien Storm is played over six levels, although each one does contain various sections.
The first style of gameplay is a simple horizontally scrolling shoot'em-up.
Each of the screens contains a selection of destructive aliens. The second is an Operation Wolf style shoot out, which usually takes place in a shop.
Finally, the action reverts back to a side-on view, although the gameplay does change significantly. The screen scrolls ferociously fast to the left and with it comes a barrage of aliens and traps that will deplete your energy if your reflexes aren't quick enough.
