Stardock Corporation's fantasy-themed empire-building strategy series returns as players once again use special magic-channeling abilities to help their civilization spread across the sub-continent Anthys in Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. Players begin by creating a character or selecting one from the ten available factions, and then founding a capital city from which to train soldiers, create pioneers to settle new territories, and research new technologies and spells to improve their civilization. In all, this expansion offers more than 50 new quests and 100 new spells and items.
The world in Fallen Enchantress is randomly generated, so no two games are alike, but a story-driven campaign mode and an interactive tutorial are included to help newcomers get familiar with the series. The action eventually leads players on dozens of quests, from battling monsters and exploring foreign landscapes to negotiating treaties and obtaining rare items. The game ends when one person has defeated all opponents, convinced all remaining survivors to join forces, finished the Quest of Mastery, or casted the Spell of Making. Creative gamers can also expand their experience by using the included map editor and modding tools.
