When Emma C. Squared unknowingly released the villainous Entrobe from the particle prison, Hyperman flew to the scene. Unfortunately, the scientific savior is a little confused about the way things work on Earth, and needs some help navigating the environment in order to capture Entrobe before he destroys the planet. Designed to teach children scientific lessons while keeping them entertained, players will explore scientific principles and use the PDA to discover clues and secret messages while tracking down Entrobe and his evil sidekick, Kid Chaos. Help Hyperman lure the evil duo into his portable containment warp by selecting items and dragging them to the trap, and create mutant creatures by altering the microenvironment and use those beings to fight against the minions of Entrobe. Learn about trajectory by using the catapult to fling Hyperman into the castle where he will steal a hot air balloon and ask you to pilot him to safety.
Science has never been so much fun to learn as it is with the new title from IBM Multimedia: The Adventures of Hyperman. Aimed for children aged from 7 to 14, Hyperman uses saturday morning-like cartoons with hilarious characters such as Entrobe, Kid Chaos and Hyperman to keep children's attention. The quality of the animations are so outstanding that I kept playing with the program to watch every single one. This is really something you have to see by yourself, because animations of such a beauty are found more often in a theater near you than on your computer screen!
Hyperman's goal is to teach science or at least, to interest children to science in general. The program has a storyline like an adventure game. Entrobe and Kid Chaos have been freed by Emma C. Squared's mistake in her attempt to solve the secret of the universe. The two villains who escaped their prison live only for destruction and their nasty plan is to mess up the Earth's chemical, biological and physical properties. As you play the role of Hyperman, an intergalactic hero, your goal will be to capture them and return them to their spatial containment.
However, Hyperman will need your help to complete his mission and that is where children interfere in the story. As Hyperman does not have a brilliant intelligence, children must help him and must use a series of tools to help solve several puzzles. The solutions found by the children will help Hyperman stop the diabolical duo before it is too late.
Some of the tools that are included are; a terrarium that shows the impact of elements on the environment, a chalboard where plans are elaborated, an electron microscope that zooms up to 1,000 times the images of plants, animals, minerals, etc, and an environmental status control panel with the player's score and number of years needed to restore the island's equilibrium. Hyperman lets children explore different tools in search of the solution of a specific problem the hero encounters. With the help of Emma C. Squared and children, Hyperman will prevent the Earth to be spoiled by Entrobe's plans.
The graphics are terrific with an excellent soundtrack that will draw kids into the program until they finish it!
The Adventures of Hyperman is an educational point-and-click adventure game that teaches science through puzzles. A cartoon series inspired by the game later aired on CBS.
The plot of the game is very simple, the two bad guys, Entrobe and Kid Chaos, are loose and try to bring chaos to the earth by adulterating and messing up with the environment properties of the planet, so it's up to Hyperman and his side-kick Emma to stop them by solving different puzzles in which they are gonna need to know some things about different concepts of science.
The puzzle types are very varied, from simple mini-games to more thinking oriented puzzles. As in every point-and-click adventure game you have your inventory, essential to solve the puzzles, though there aren't different cursors for different actions.
