Based on the famous Looney Tunes cartoon characters, the game is educational action for the kids.
You are Daffy Duck, and this time you are a Private Investigator (P.I.). The letters are escaped from their words and scattered, where they want. You should find the missing letters and fill the words with proper ones to complete your job successfully and to collect a great amount of money for this not simple task.
Completing different themed locations, Daffy will progress from one location to another. Each location represent a single screen, where letters are scattered in random places as well as different words located. You should collect the letter and bring it to proper word. When all words are filled the location will be passed, and Daffy will be allowed to proceed further. Also different enemies such as Elmer Fudd, Sylvester J. Pussycat, Yosemite Sam, or Wile E. Coyote are present on locations. They want to kill Daffy, but Daffy can also make them stunned with different weapons, such as bananas or eggs.
Bonus levels are present between locations. Such levels are time-oriented and represents the matrix of the letters. You should mark the letters one by one to get a word. Each word will give you points. And each thousand of points will give you life, which you may loose on locations, therefore you should find as much words on bonus levels as possible.
There are 3 difficulty levels and High Score table to store the most impressive results in the game.
This game is definitely aimed at the youngest players. It's a sort of a letter/word puzzle game with some action.
The game is based on the lovable Daffy Duck who (among his other talents) was also a private eye (Duck Tracy). This time he's looking for letters.
The game features nice animations in 16 color EGA graphics and some sounds. The action bit isn't really that hard (neither are the puzzles for that matter), but all in all it's quite fun. The game was meant to be a learning program, helping children how to spell, but unlike many other learning programs, this one didn't neglect the component of fun.
You'll need to follow the trail of the missing letters solving little puzzles on the way and getting bonus levels (where you need to create as many words as possible from given letters).
All in all this game is a somewhat pleasant attempt of edutainment. I think it deserves at least a three and I (as a teacher) do recommend it to people who wish to improve their spelling.
It's at the complete beginner level true, but reading through some posts I think many people would really need to learn how to spell. I'm thinking especially of the 1337 talkers here.
This is an educational spelling-game with popular Looney Toones characters like Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Wily E. Coyote. In this game Daffy Duck is on a treasure hunt, and in each level you must pick up the right letter wich is missing from the given word and then you must put it in the right slot.
One of the few education titles from Hi-Tech Expressions, and therefore one of its rarest releases, Daffy Duck is a so-so spelling game starring popular Looney Tunes characters Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and more.
The game was designed for kids aged 5-8 to hone basic vocabulary skills, so it is easy to learn and play. The goal is simple: Daffy Duck is on a treasure hunt. On each level, you must pick up the correct alphabet (using ENTER key) that is missing from a given word, then put it down (again with ENTER key) in the correct slot. For example, if the word is SE_EN, you must pick up the V block and drop it in the blank. But you must be careful-other Looney Tunes characters such as Porky Pig and Wily E. Coyote can cause you lives. You are armed with a rifle that fires bananas (yes, bananas) to keep adversaries at bay, and completing the word correctly will yield a gold coin and grant access to the next, more difficult, level. A pretty decent game overall, but the lack of gameplay variety will probably not keep kids glued to the screen as long as, say, Super Solver games.
