This sequel arrived in its Amiga form before Elite's conversion of its forerunner, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, and far exceeded it in every respect. Retaining the 'run and jump' action of the original, Ghouls has a larger and more varied play area, with a whole host of zombies, magicians and vultures impeding your progress. The storyline recounts how Arthur the Knight's babe has been kidnapped by Satan himself, and whisked away to his demonic lair. Armed only with a handful of lances and a suit of armour, you must steer Arthur through the game's six levels until you get a chance to kill off Satan and rescue your girly. This action then proceeds through platform-filled towns and areas, where Arthur can collect extra weapons to aid his progress. Graphically, although they are tiny, Ghouls' sprites are well-drawn and detailed, and the backdrops are of an even higher standard.
In addition, supporting the action are six of the best tunes you'll ever hear from your Amiga - all of which are courtesy of Tim Follin. A brilliant little game, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts ranks as one of my all-time faves.
3 years ago... the brave knight, Arthur, saved the beloved Princess PrinPrin from the Dark Prince, Lucifer, and had driven his evil forces back into the Underworld. But now...monsters had begun attacking the kingdom again, and this time Princess PrinPrin has been kidnapped for a dark ritual to raise a greater evil than Lucifer!
Almost the same zombie killing platform game as the Ghosts 'n Goblins, with new levels, better graphics, new enemies and fine music.
