The Sims: Pet Stories follows the same laptop-friendly formula as Life Stories, and players may work their way through the storyline or create their own world in "Classic" mode. Gamers must train and care for their pet as they grow and age. Challenges and goal achievements including competing in a pet show and taming several pet personalities can unlock rewards.
