Being a doctor in the real world takes steel and a steady hand, but in this cyber-sick ward all it takes is a lot of patience. As a rookie med student, you review a patient's chart and use simplistic procedures (checking blood pressure, taking pulse) to diagnose and treat a host of illnesses and injuries. But the healing comes quick and painless: There is no actual Q&A with the patients; nearly everything you need is already on the charts. And it doesn't take a brain surgeon to click through a series of multiple-choice options, even as the so-called emergencies get more serious. If you get off on playing doctor, you're best advised to watch television's ER, because this Emergency Room makes you want to pull the plug.
You become the doctor in this "real-life" simulation. From the initial contact with patients to their release, you'll be processing paperwork, examining, diagnosing, ordering treatment, and performing follow-up examinations.
Things can get very hectic in the Emergency Room of Legacy Memorial Hospital. There are a wide variety of medical situations to deal with which range in seriousness from a simple bee sting to sexually transmitted diseases to "code blue" life-threatening accidents. Over 400 such cases are covered in this game.
Don't worry if you have no medical knowledge because the research materials available to you are plentiful. You'll do quite a bit of reading on medical treatments, human anatomy and physiology and emergency procedures.
