For those tired of building cities, or those who have always been interested in rural life, comes SimFarm. This game places you in control of a piece of land and a dream. How large a farm do you want? Do you want to feed the locals, or people across the country? What type of farm will you run? Grow crops, raise livestock, or do both. What should you grow? You have a choice of 24 different crops. You must also choose to use either chemical fertilizers and pesticides or to only use organic materials.
Along with running the farm you will need to buy and sell land as you compete with the locals for the available space. Decide on the prices of your products in order to compete in the market. SimFarm will also have you competing against Mother Nature -- your whole farm could be devasted by pests, droughts, dust storms, or a variety of other disasters.
Take control and manage a virtual farm, buying and selling lifestock and planting and maintaning crops. There is a changing weather system and realistic seasons important to the running of your farm.
You own a plot of good farmland. Do you want a small family farm--or an agricultural profit center? Do you want to produce food for the local town--or feed the world's hungry masses? Do you use the latest chemical fertilizers and pesticides--or run an "organic" farm? It's up to you. Plow your fields, sow your seeds, harvest your crops and sell them at market. Easy? Sure, except for soil depletion, crop rotation, changing markets and diminishing farmland--not to mention pests, droughts, dust storms and other fun disasters. A fun and original game that's highly recommended. Growing tomatoes has never been this much fun :)
