As 1 of 3 different player characters (male, female or alien!) you unravel puzzles to thwart the Pulsating Inconvenience from Planet X to save Earth in the year 1956!

Now this is one screwy game. You get to play one of the three characters and their missions (options) are different. Playing one of the two Earthlings you need to heal an alien that crush-landed on our planet. In the process of doing this you meet various people and you can talk with them. If a person is of different gender then yourself you'll get a lips icon (presumably to talk some more...), but upon clicking it, it will change into a screw icon (a little pointy thing that seems to have no effect on the gameplay whatsoever, except showing you some bonus material of rocket launching, torpedo firing, zeppelin flying...). Like I said, screwy.

Otherwise the game is quite a pleasant adventure game, but a bit too easy. Having three different characters to choose from is a nice twist (but actually there's only some difference if you chose an alien of an earthling). You need to get that alien craft operational again and leave Earth in it. Don't think too much of it, you won't be the first human to do so. Your old man was also kidnapped and saw giant man-eating walking plants along with many beautiful vixens set upon sexual domination, making it hard for any man to resist them.

The game is entirely controlled by a mouse. It features good background music, but the speech (yes it has speech) sounds a bit scratchy. To load or save press ESC and a jukebox screen will show up. Song titles are the names of your saved games. Playing a song loads a game and recording it saved it. Exiting leaves the game and returning returns to playing. Now I suggest you save often, because I had some troubles with the game. It froze up three or four times (luckily I just returned to the saved point and played on).

There aren't many animations in the game and even those that are, is more of a background effect. The graphics are very good though and nice. As for the first part, so goes for this one as well. You probably wouldn't want your parents to know, you've been letting your younger (9 year old) sister watch you play this game.

And now enough foreplay, it's time to really play. Download this game ranking at an average mark of 3 (for being graphically good, sounding good, but just too easy and to burdened with censored sexuality).

There are also two extras: the Codes and the Walkthrough.

Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 is one of the most sought-after oldies in existence. It is ironic, then, that it happens to be one of the worst computer games ever made in any genre. Even more ironic (and incredulous) is the fact that it was designed by Steve Meretzsky, the creative meistro behind such classics as Infocom's A Mind Forever Voyaging and the original Leather Goddesses of Phobos.

So what makes this game so awful it should be forgotten? The more you play, the more you can't shake the sinking feeling that Meretzsky is perhaps trying to appeal only to the testosterone-high, pea-brained section of the gaming market. Just about everything else in the game (except the good graphics-- but then, it takes up 14MB of disk space) is either badly designed, or badly executed. In the beginning, you can choose to play as either Zeke, Lydia, or Barth the alien who crash-landed on earth. Despite this illusion of longevity, each path you take can be finished in a few hours-- there are few items to use, and you don't even need to use everything you can take. Playing Lydia is exactly the same as playing Zeke's game, except that you screw males instead of females (yup, you heard that right-- ergo, that testosterone appeal), and Barth's path is even shorter. Because the game uses a one-click-does-all scheme, you can finish the game merely by clicking madly everywhere on the screen (it's not easy separating items that can be picked up from the rest).

Overall, the game is a big disappointment and a disgrace to the Infocom name. Juvenile dialogues, insipid puzzles, and out-of-place "mature" content seem like Meretzsky might be targeting this game a tad too narrowly. Still, that's no excuse-- Meretzky's own Spellcasting games were also intentionally sophomoric, but they were much, much more enjoyable to play and do require intelligence to solve. LGOP2 *might* be considered an old game for some, but not unless you lower the standards to ground-level. Those who've been looking for this game-- proceed at your own risk.
