A finalist at the 2009 Independent Games Festival, the game previously known as Dyson is a real-time strategy game in which players try to conquer small groups of asteroids. Gamers begin with a single "seed" that soon blossoms into a tree, releasing more seeds that simultaneously serve as soldiers, explorers, and currency. All seeds are governed by speed, strength, and energy characteristics, with each seed's traits inherited from the asteroid of its origin. There are two types of trees in Eufloria: Defense trees, that release bombs when enemies attack, and Dyson trees, which produce and release seeds for further colonization. To succeed, gamers must choose suitable asteroids to colonize, pick the correct amount of seeds to deploy, and hold back the right number of seeds for defense purposes. Eufloria features procedurally generated worlds, so gamers can experience different levels every time they play.
