Team17 Software's homicidal annelids return for more 2D turn-based mayhem, albeit with new character classes and a brand new game engine offering realistic physics and dynamic water effects in Worms Revolution. As always, players take turns attempting to destroy each other with a variety of quirky and comical weapons, but now they can tweak their strategy by building their team from the high-powered Heavy, nimble Scout, well-rounded Soldier, and resourceful Scientist classes.
Water plays a greater role than ever before, with new weapons capable of dousing foes or knocking them into pools of health-sapping standing water, though drains have also been including to help avoid a soggy defeat. Solo gamers can take on the 32-mission Campaign mode or the 20-challenge Puzzle mode, while multiplayer fans can battle friends locally or online in the Deathmatch and Forts modes, or the Classic mode, which removes the classes and dynamic water effects.
