Payday: The Heist is a team-based, online shooter that has you attempting to pull off six Hollywood-style heists. You and your squad will engage in a downtown bank robbery, an armored car hijacking, a break-in of a secret facility, and more. Dynamically changing environments and a computer AI designed to adapt to your tactics will make each scenario play differently. You'll need to work with three fellow criminals as a team to disarm security systems, manage civilian hostages, administer first-aid, provide cover fire, and prevent members of law enforcement from stopping your score.
Your criminal can become more skilled over time thanks to a progression tree built around three specialties: assault, sharpshooter, and support. As you complete more and more heists, you'll unlock new weapons and equipment such as trip mines, silenced pistols, and machine guns. Should one of your crew be captured by SWAT or the FBI, you can make an even exchange for a hostage, allowing you to continue your operation at full capacity. Payday: The Heist will also support downloadable content (DLC) that will expand the game to include more heists, weapons, and equipment.
