TimeGate Studios' arena-based first-person shooter series returns with this downloadable sequel, offering a refined single-player experience and expanded multiplayer options, including a new co-op mode. In the single-player "Campaign" mode, gamers take control of Alex Corde as he attempts to determine how a small band of Arm of Orion fighters managed to inflict so much damage on the powerful 8th Armored Infantry during the events of the original Section 8. "Conquest" mode lets up to 32 players join the struggle between the two factions as they vie for strategic control points, with combatants choosing from more than 60 weapon and equipment options before dropping from orbit into four different battlefields. Gamers can also use super sprints or Tribes-inspired jetpacks to zoom around each level, or call in support in the form of hover bikes, drop ships, tanks, and assault mechs. And the "Swarm" mode tasks a quartet of players with defending a single control point from a relentless horde of attackers until reinforcements arrive.
