Sega's speedy mascot returns to his 2D side-scrolling roots in the download-only title Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II. The events of Episode I were merely the prelude to a larger scheme hatched by Dr. Eggman, whose plan becomes more clear with the return of Little Planet, the mysterious world from Sonic CD that is visible only once each century. Players must guide the famed blue hedgehog and his trusty partner Tails through four different three-level zones, each culminating in a classic Sonic boss battle, including a matchup with their old nemesis Metal Sonic.
