Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops is an action game that seeks a balance between shooting and stealth by allowing gamers to switch between two drastically different protagonists at any time. Set in the year 2025, Phantom Ops tells the story of U.S. Army combat specialist Aron Alvarez, and Myra Lee, an agent of the ultra-secret Intelligence Support Activity division of the U.S. Army Special Operation Unit.
Together, the duo travel to some of the globe's most dangerous locations, including Somalia, Dubai, and Cuba, in an effort to quell an escalating arms race being driven by piracy and the rapid dwindling of natural resources. To achieve their ultimate goal of assassinating Somali dictator Karim Kimosein, gamers must strategically switch between Myra's measured, clandestine approach to problems, and Aron's more direct and heavily armed tactics.
As players head through Mogadishu, Havana, and Dubai, they will be able to use Aron's assault rifle and explosives to take down groups of enemies and reshape the environments, while Myra's cloaking ability, deadly crossbow, and hidden knife are more suited to close-range attacks against a single enemy. The story gets a bit more complicated when gamers begin to run into futuristic attack robots, but developer Black Lion Studios estimates the entire campaign can be completed in approximately ten hours.
