Aliens threaten to destroy the earth via a huge bomb embedded deep within the planet. As a challenge to the human race, they have agreed to let Earth's finest pilot to get into a high-speed ship to get to the bomb before the timer runs out.
Your ship has minimal shields to protect you from slamming into walls as you navigate the deep underground tunnels. But it's not easy: You'll have no idea which tunnels are the fastest/shortest until a split second before you get to them, and there are alien weapons trying to destroy you along the way.
If you manage to complete the run and save the earth, you can tell the program to randomly generate an entirely new game with different tunnels for endless replayability.
Tunnels of Armageddon is a fun futuristic racing game with a twist: instead of racing headlone on predetermined tracks, your goal is to collect various objects inside the tunnel by knocking them off the walls. There is not much else to the game, but although gameplay is simplistic, it is a lot of fun. You will need to avoid obstacles inside the tunnel, and there are many bonus items that increase your score. You will also come across forks or junctures inside the tunnel where you will have to choose which way to go. Lack of tournament mode and on-screen computer opponents hampers the game's replayability, but the availability of long, varied tracks should keep you busy for a while. Recommended as a fun diversion, not something you will labor months to finish :)
