Yep, its time to save the world again! This time, the bad guy is the evil Admiral Wort, whose evil machinations are about to end the free world. You get to shoot and hurl grenades at hundreds of guards, which become progressively tougher throughout the game. There's also an element of strategy in amassing different components of several super weapons to use towards the climax of the game.
The action takes place over more than 200 individual screens. Each opponent on the screen must be defeated before you can scroll over onto the next one. There are four main arenas of the adventure and when all of the relevant objectives for one section have been completed, the action slows down to give the player a short rest.
The gameplay, although seemingly simplistic, soon becomes addictive. Your mouse trigger finger eventually takes on a life of its own as it sweeps the screen free of brightly colored enemy soldiers: they fall on you, walk into you, dump bombs on you, and still keep on coming. The seemingly dull 3-D scenes and backgrounds are no hindrance as you blast your way from scene to scene. The James Bond-styled musak may annoy you, though.
Graphics: Colorful, a little slow
Sound: Only James Bodesque music, no voices
Enjoyment: Easy to play and dip into quickly
Replay Value: Can be easily accessed again and again
The world is in danger again as general Wort has some evil plans with it. Elite soldiers Hank 'Guts' Carter and Stacy 'Garters' Pringle are sent in to stop him and his minions.
Played in a style similar to Cabal, the game has you controlling Guts or Garters by keyboard and mouse. Each level consists of multiple connected static screens (including a boss-confrontation screen) that must be cleared.
Storming soldiers, helicopters, and tanks must be shot, but do not forget to reload your weapon and search for ammo. Once a scene is cleared, search and collect hidden items. Exits by way of arrows then become visible granting you access to the next screen.
